Group Payroll Manager
Partner with the wider Shared Services Team to deliver an efficient, cost-effective, risk-averse, compliant and customer-centric payroll function. Act to upskill, engage with, and empower the current (and highly competent) payroll team of 8. Description Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, you will: Oversee the performance of a team of 8 experienced payroll officers of varying levels of seniority Ensure the team are exposed to continuous training and upskilling to support their success Drive cultural improvement towards a proactive, engaged team who want to provide value as they feel valued Take responsibility for the integrity of 30 payruns across over 15 entities on a fortnightly basis - over 900 pay events / year Provide visibility on cost, error rates etc.
by way of consistent reporting to relevant senior stakeholders Make changes to ensure best-use of current payroll system (Chris21) Deliver on an improved payroll function (systems, team, processes) against your own assessment of areas for improvement (as well as tabled projects) Make changes to reduce risk and cost as required Moving the payroll function from a 'transactional' beast, to one that is seen as a true service-based business unit within the wider organisation Profile To be considered for and successful in this role you will offer: Demonstrated success in a complex payroll function - manual processing and calculations, multiple agreements / awards, multi-entity/multi-site organisation, allowances, deductions etc. Team leadership experience A natural affinity for and demonstrated success in delivering on payroll improvement projects Success using Chris21 or iChris An approach that is proactive and innovative - you embrace and have appetite for change and challenges An ability to influence people towards change A strong sense of professionalism - you present as competent and credible Job Offer In return you will: Join this firm at a time of evolution - change is necessary and the business is keen to move the organisation forward.
