Payroll Officer and Hotel Accountant
Full Time Looking for your next BIG adventure? Ready to explore? We are seeking a full time Payroll Officer and Hotel Accountant for Kakadu Tourism. Kakadu Tourism is Kakadu’s largest collection of Accommodation, Fishing and Wetland Cruises, Adventure Tours and operates Warradjan Cultural Centre. Kakadu Tourism operates two main locations, the iconic Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and Cooinda Lodge Kakadu, which is based 52 kilometres south of Jabiru.
This role is based in the head office for Kakadu Tourism in the Darwin CBD with direct access to the Financial Controller, whom this role supports. Travel to the park will occur regularly, to assist with site-based queries. Sound like you? The ideal candidate will possess: Solid payroll exposure, including the processing, reporting and maintenance of the payroll system Experience in processing journals and exposure to STP reporting The ability to problem spot and solve Previous experience in supporting a Finance Controller undertake Accounts Payable and Receivable Strong organisational, negotiation and communication skills with a high attention to detail Exposure to government reporting and the ability to assist processing required reporting Experience working for an Indigenous owned company and a passion for positive outcomes for Indigenous communities The desire to train, develop and lead team members The ability to effectively time-manage large volume workloads, to meet deadlines and work well under pressure situations Advanced Microsoft excel skills In this role you will support the Financial Controller with: Facilitating and overseeing fortnightly end-to-end payrolls across the two properties.
Assist with the preparation of high-level financial reporting including monthly result & analysis and defining the future strategy of the business Prepare and assist in the reconciliation of payroll, renumeration, superannuation and leave journals Complete quarterly and annual processes, including performance payments, Long Service Leave reporting, and work cover remuneration Checking for arithmetical accuracy of invoices – both vertical and horizontal costing Consolidating superannuation payments and audits to ensure effective management Ensuring Accor policies and internal controls are operating effectively All Accounts Payable facets, across the two properties Reconcile the supplier’s monthly statements to the Hotels accounts payable records Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations Maintains annual leave, long service leave and 25% over award liability reports Reconcile the supplier’s monthly statements to the Hotels accounts payable records This is a senior role within the business, the successful candidate will need to have Hotel or Tourism exposure and candidates with previous experience working with Preceda, E-tivity, Sun and Opera will be preferred.
