AO6 Content Strategist



We are working with a large State Government Department on a Digital Transformation Project, we are now in the next phase of the project and require a Content Strategist to join the team at an AO6 level for an initial 6 month contract. This role will see you reporting to the Principal Advisor in the Digital Transformation team where you will be helping revolutionise the departments' digital presence. You will play a key role in transforming digital channels to better connect the public and departmental staff with vital information, resources and facilities.

You will support the Website Transformation Team in driving the Transformation Agenda and achieving business goals through the analysis and documentation of business and user requirements for this long-term project. Key accountabilities for the AO6 Content Strategist role include: Developing a deep understanding of the Departments digital channels with a focus on user engagement, content structure and governance Creating the strategy for improving content delivery across the system including the planned Beta site Leading the Information Architecture strategy across multiple websites and website sections Leading a system-wide taxonomy strategy for search and content categorisation; Setting guidelines for tone, style and voice Setting editorial strategy to encourage consistent content across the system Building and managing a small team of content editors (AO5) Training others within the department on creating effective content for their websites or sections of websites Measuring and analysing content effectiveness Developing key project documentation as required To be considered for this role you will possess; 5 years of professional work as a Content Strategist or Senior Content Editor Experience in: Leading large-scale content migration projects Agile/Scrum methodology and associated software e.g.

Trello; Web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics); CMS web frameworks such as SquizMatrix or GovCMS Content readability tools such as WebFX.

Knowledge of SEO principles and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 or above) and adhering to requirements A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage, plan and meet priorities, accountabilities, performance indicators and deadlines High-level communication and interpersonal skills, and with proven ability to influence, educate and inspire stakeholders of all levels, professionally and empathetically; On offer is the opportunity to join a high performing team and working on a high profile project that will impact us all.
