Disability Support Workers - Supported Independent Living
Casual 24/7 Rotating Roles A fantastic new opportunity exists in the Hunter Region for experienced Support Workers to join ConnectAbility Australia, working in disability support group homes in the Newcastle area The casual roles are on an ad hoc basis with occasional rostered shifts About You The successful candidates will need to have passion for working with people with disability and a commitment to our vision, mission and values. Personally you will be person centred, highly ethical, self-motivated, reliable, resilient and able to work autonomously on a 24/7 rotating roster. About The Role & Requirements Previous experience in working with people with disabilities, including those with high to very high support needs and complex behavioural needs, their families and carers.
Demonstrated commitment to the Disability Service Standards and ability to promote the rights of people with disabilities. Demonstrated commitment to providing an environment free of abuse or harm to vulnerable people Certificate III in Disability Studies or equivalent or relevant industry experience Ability and willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster Constructive communication skills and focus on teamwork An energetic, flexible and pro-active approach to supporting people with disabilities and an understanding of person centred planning principles. Commitment to observing and implementing WH&S requirements.
Current unencumbered NSW driverâ€™s licence Current First Aid Certificate Basic computer skills including ability to use email. Current National Criminal Record Check (NCRC) and Working with Children Check (WWCC) that meet our employment criteria or willingness to obtain one at own expense prior to commencing employment with ConnectAbility NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certification About Us ConnectAbility Australia is one of the most experienced community service providers in the Hunter Region.
