THE OPPORTUNITY An exciting new opportunity has arisen in our Commercial Team for a Contracts Officer in our Head Office based in the Newcastle Region. You will have responsibility for reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, and will also be involved with a range of general commercial advisory matters.
WHAT YOUâ€™LL DO Working in a fast-paced and close-knit team, your role will involve: Negotiation, review and drafting of a variety of contracts and tenders Ongoing review of commercial terms and conditions of tender and contract documents Development of ongoing relationships with internal and external customers for the management of key business relationships Undertaking research and information collection and prepare reports or advice concerning legislative compliance and changes, legislative interpretation and intellectual property protection Assisting with other commercial matters as required, including acquisitions, litigation, insurance claims and other legal matters Updating Ampcontrol Group companiesâ€™ register on ASIC as required. WHAT WEâ€™RE LOOKING FOR We are willing to consider applicants of varying experience for this position. You could be an experienced contracts officer or legal professional looking to enjoy better work / life balance and a friendly team; or you may be a recent graduate with one to two years undergraduate / post- graduate experience.

You will also have: Degree level qualification in law or an associated field Experience in dealing with contracts / contract management Proven negotiation skills in analysis of commercial issues and sound commercial acumen Demonstrated ability to influence successful outcomes Competent in Microsoft Office applications It is essential that the successful candidate confidently demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills.
