Senior Psychologist/ Senior Specialist Psychologist - Temporary up to 12 months - Regional NSW



This is an exciting opportunity to develop and build professional skills in a team of Psychologists/Specialist Psychologists and receive expert supervision. The roles are temporary 12 months Full Time and Part Time in regional locations, with excellent remuneration. There is potential for some service delivery using audio-visual technology.

About us Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers high quality Psychological Services across custodial and community locations throughout NSW to reduce the risk of re-offending, enhance public safety and improve the mental health and wellbeing of offenders. It contributes to the strategic direction of the Communities and Justice sector for the 'safe, secure and humane management of offenders in custody'. Psychological Services provide evidence based risk assessments and interventions for offenders from all offence types and with a range of clinical presentations.

About the role Psychological Services in South region is seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to work as a Senior Psychologist/Senior Specialist Psychologist. The role includes the leadership, management and supervision of a small team of Psychologists/Specialist Psychologists in addition to consultation and provision of direct psychology services, including risk assessment and intervention services, particularly in community locations. In Community Corrections the focus is the risk assessment, management and intervention of medium to high risk sex and violent offenders.

In Correctional Centres the focus is primarily on improving mental health and wellbeing of both male and female offenders although this varies according to offender program pathway requirements. As a Senior Psychologist/Senior Specialist Psychologist the successful applicant will supervise the development of psychological skills among team members in: Sex and violent offender risk assessment of Female offenders. Offenders with a range of mental health and trauma related problem.

Manage, supervise and lead a team of Psychologists/Specialist Psychologists in the provision of direct psychological services and/or psychological programs to offenders within custodial and community locations on a cluster basis. Assist in the development of policy and procedures relating to psychology services for offenders within custodial and community locations. Provide regular individual and/or group supervision for Psychologists/Specialists.

Provide direct psychological services where appropriate in complex cases. Assist in the development of professional training and development for individual Psychologists/Specialist Psychologists. Ensure appropriate psychological documentation standards on Offender Integrated Management System (OIMS) and in case files are maintained on all offenders who are receiving psychological services within the cluster.

Liaise with stakeholders to arrange and negotiate psychological service provision and to maintain consistency and appropriate role boundaries fo.
