Pavement Project Manager
Leader in the civil infrastructure market in NSW require a pavements Project Manager to support increased work load within their NSW business. Job Title: Surfacing Project Engineer/Manager Location: Sydney, NSW Pay Rate: $100 â€“ 150k AU package The New South Wales civil and construction market is leading the country on infrastructure spend. The works across the state include Federally funded major capital works projects, major maintenance contracts, rail infrastructure upgrades, mine and port developments, so it has set the tone for a busy 5 years plus ahead.
The Company The company is one of the established players within NSW Civil Engineering Industry. Due to the construction works happening up and down the state, and throughout Sydney they are looking at a year ahead with an unprecedented order book of work in hand and to add to that they are about to be awarded further projects. They expect this level of activity to be sustained and even increase over the next 3 years.
Main Duties As a Surfacing Project Engineer/Manager you will be managing surfacing works in and around the Sydney Area, and will be part of a dedicated team who will report into the Areaâ€™s Operation Manager. You will be responsible for managing various concurrent projects; both large and small, long to short term planning and programming of works including resourcing of the projects for plant and labour resource, client liaison, through direct contract with your direct reports managing and maintaining quality of the works, managing and controlling H&S elements at all times, directly monitoring, controlling and reporting cost on projects. Requirements The successful candidate will bring to the role; â€¢ 5-10 years experience, and hold a relevant degree in civil engineering or similar â€¢ Previous demonstrated experience in delivering technical challenging projects, particularly involving road construction related through on site supervision and management of onsite activities â€¢ A good understanding and demonstrative experience of general civil engineering and technical elements.
â€¢ Previous work history with an establish Construction/Asphalting/Surfacing Company. â€¢ A good understanding and demonstrative experience of pavement types, standard surfacing and asphalting practices, including supervision of laying, quantifying and ordering of materials, testing and monitoring of quality. â€¢ Have necessary experience and knowledge in auxiliary civils involved in surfacing and roading construction such as iron work, kerb and channelling, milling and planning.
