Katherine Women's Crisis Centre/c Critical Intervention Outreach Service Outreach Case Worker The Katherine Womenâ€™s Crisis Centre is passionate and focused, working to support and maximise the safety of women and their children experiencing domestic and family violence in the greater Katherine region. As an Outreach Case Worker you will be required to provide information, education, advocacy, referral and case management support to women and their children who are experiencing Domestic/Family violence. The Outreach team strives to reduce the incidence and impact of domestic /family violence and strengthen the capacity of women, children, families and communities to improve their wellbeing and safety.
The team consistently work together, to create an environment conductive to healing. Supporting women by 'walking with them' and, adhering to a strong organisational Vision, Mission and Core KWCC Values. You will need to be holistic, flexible and have a depth of cultural understanding and sound knowledge of domestic/family violence for the required case management.
Affective communication skills are paramount as you engage extensively with other support services and community organisations. This role requires you to have a Certificate III in Community Services (or willingness to undertake and obtain). Domestic Violence Orders and Victims Compensation is desirable.
The successful applicant will posses personal initiative, basic computer skills, excellent verbal, and written communication skills. A Working with children clearance and Criminal history check or ability to obtain it and a current drivers licence will also be an essential requirement for this position.
