The Cyber Security Incident Manager will be responsible for team management, security incidents and vulnerability management for government clients. Permanent Full Time Global IT Company - Federal Governments Clients NV1 clearance is required A leading global IT company is currently looking to hire an experienced Cyber Security Incident Manager for a permanent position in Canberra. You will be working as the Incident Manager in a SOC, you will ensure that cyber security incidents and vulnerabilities are detected, contained, and mitigated.
You will be responsible for incident tracking and handling along with overseeing day-to-day operations of the security team. Key responsibilities: Actively monitor and analyse systems and respond to cyber security events as per process requirements. Coordinate security incidents and breach investigations with the applicable platform or operations teams.
Maintain awareness of current threats, industry trends, and emerging technologies that identify and drive opportunities to improve the cyber security posture. Perform continuous validation and maintenance of incident response plans and playbooks. Facilitate cyber security incident simulation activities.
Identify and appropriately manage security risks. Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to other analyst within the SOC. Be the primary contact point for all team members for day-to-day operations and manage a team working on 24x7 shift work.
Key Requirements: A bachelorâ€™s degree or other relevant qualifications. CISSP certification (highly desirable). High-level skills in leading and developing a critical incident response capability.
Detailed technical understanding of security incidents and alerts along with the ability to proactively sweep the enterprise network to detect anomalous activity. In-depth understanding of security issues across platforms and the ability to communicate clearly in both technical and non-technical settings. A strong understanding of security principles and concepts, and team leadership experience (highly desirable).
