As Manager, you will manage the Strategy, Policy and Performance team and the lead the strategic development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing strategies and policies under the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017-2027 (Housing Strategy) and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Action Plan 2019-2023 (Action Plan). In particular, you will: â€¢ Provide leadership and management in the implementation of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Action Plan and the development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing sector development activities. â€¢ Engage effectively across the department, and with partners in government and non-government sectors to inform and support strategy, policy, program development and delivery that is cohesive and inclusive of the community needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
â€¢ Contribute as a member of the broader Leadership Team in the development and promotion of the strategic vision and the implementation of that vision to achieve safe, secure and sustainable housing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities across Queensland. â€¢ Provide accurate and comprehensive briefing, high level advice and recommendations to senior leaders on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing strategy, policy and performance, as required. â€¢ Develop a performance framework to monitor Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing and homelessness outcomes.
â€¢ Build a high-performance workplace culture characterised by honesty, trust, inclusion, transparency, accountability and continuous learning and improvement and lead the team through change to ensure the effective delivery of an ambitious housing reform agenda and the achievement of outcomes under the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017 - 2027. Note: the role may require occasional travel including overnight stays. Some communities have alcohol management plans and restrictions in place.
Field work may be subject to travelling over rough and flooded terrain and severe weather conditions, with thunderstorms, monsoon rains and extreme heat.
