Fisheries Scientist



• Maintain existing monitoring programs collecting length, sex and age data for five species of reef fish species. This will involve some field work. • Participate as required in the development, design, conduct and review of fisheries monitoring projects at a local, regional and state-wide level.

This will involve some field work. • Ensure planned objectives for reporting on monitoring and assessment programs and projects are met within set milestones. • Collate, evaluate, analyse and report on fisheries sustainability data within identified timeframes.

• Interact with internal and external stakeholders to build effective professional networks and maintain knowledge of state-wide developments in issues relating to marine and fisheries management. • Contribute to a range of internal and external activities as an active member of the Fisheries Queensland team. • Undertake other duties as directed.

Mandatory requirement/special conditions • Degree in Science from a recognized tertiary institution, or equivalent academic qualification. • A current C class driver's license. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
