Job Expectations Secure Australia's Network Backbone nbn is responsible for the country's communication backbone built upon all the major communication transport technologies of today. In your new role, you will participate in defining the security strategy for Australia's national communications infrastructure supporting industry, defence and the vast majority of the Australian population. A bit about your role The IT Security Technology Architecture and Strategy role resides within Chief Technology Office (CTO) group and is responsible for our technology security architecture and strategy, researching and monitoring emerging and current cyber threats, and participate in the development of mitigating strategies, architectures and tactics.
The role will be responsible for understanding current and future threats, current response capabilities, and emerging security risk mitigation strategies and ensure our strategy and architectures address those. Some of the key responsibilities will be: Engage with Corporate Security Group, peers, vendors, universities, other research organizations to analyse next generation systems architecture, security threats and risk mitigation technologies, processes and operational models and contributing to the development of security awareness, education and communications program; Maintain an understanding of current and emerging security threats and nbn security technology roadmaps Development of security technology strategies, frameworks, standards, policies and reference architectures and present to the Senior Executive Committee Partner with SG on security strategy and capability architecture documentation, socialisation, and delivery Developing and driving Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and demonstrations; Documenting and improving the IT & Systems Security architecture Lead and/or support the incorporation of security technology strategy into multi-year architectures, blueprints, white papers, etc. published by the CTO; A bit about you An influencing, collaborative leader with strong stakeholder management and extensive experience in cybersecurity technologies, architectures and strategies, systems operations and business continuity planning & execution with practical experience in leading the development/delivery of enterprise security strategies.
Over 10 years of recognized and rewarded experience in IT & systems security strategy, information security, cyber and protective security policy gained. Knowledge and experience in operating industry and defence security standards including ISO 27000 & 20000 and the NIST Cybersecurity Capability Framework (CSF), Australian Essential 8 etc. Understanding of the "Kill Chain" or Mitre ATT&CK framework and demonstrated experience in developing and communicating technology security architecture & strategies, policies, securing networks by understanding and applying cybersecurity solutions in a strategic framework.
