Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor - Physiology, Adelaide Medical School



(Level C) $119,070 to $136,990 per annum or (Level D) $142,958 to $157,289 plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply Fixed-term, full-time position for three years with the possibility of extension An academic opportunity exists for a Senior Lecture/Associate Professor with experience in Physiology teaching and research to join our team in Medical Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating physiology courses and will teach into undergraduate courses across faculty programs in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences as well as being a contributor to future program development. We are seeking someone who can demonstrate a significant role in research and has the ability to contribute to strengthening the research standing of the Discipline of Physiology with the leadership capabilities required to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.

To be successful you will need: Senior Lecturer (Level C) A PhD in the relevant discipline, or have equivalent qualifications and/or research experience Experience in curriculum development and in the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and clinical sessions Demonstrated ability to lead others in the delivery of high quality course and subject design, and in the delivery of high quality student centred learning and teaching at an undergraduate level that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to learning and teaching Supervision of major honours or postgraduate research projects Experience in liaising and promoting research links with external bodies In addition to the above, for Associate Professor (Level D), you will also need: Extensive experience in course and program coordination, curriculum design and implementation Supervision of the program of study of honours students and of postgraduate students engaged in course work Demonstrated experience in managing and leading major research projects and research teams Demonstrated experience in the preparation of successful proposal submissions to external funding bodies, and overseeing and managing grants received Demonstrated ability to conduct extensive, independent, high quality research with significant contributions to the discipline Enjoy an outstanding career environment The University of Adelaide is a uniquely rewarding workplace.
