Asset Management Specialist



The Role: The Department program is seeking an Asset Management Subject Matter Expert (Data), with a strong background in analysing, designing, developing and delivering the data requirements for Enterprise Asset Management Systems. A demonstrated understanding of the relationship between an asset management system and the way information needs to be provided to enable works management is essential. Key Duties: In support of the Asset Management IT System implementation the following will be required with sufficient level of depth to enable the implementation project: Define and document the Asset Information Standards, Define and document the Asset Management System Data Model Define, document and implement the Asset Management System Data Migration Strategy.

Elicit asset related attributes and measures with subject matter experts from the Department (i.e. criticality ratings for assets, failure codes, performance measures, response times, tolerance levels, confirming the asset hierarchy).

Procure information for the Asset Management System to ensure a smooth implementation and assist the acceptance of the system by the Department. Develop asset data, together with subject matter experts, to feed into the Asset Management System. Consider systems engineering principles when completing any of the above work.

Liaise with the Department representatives regarding asset management and its implementation (whole lifecycle management). Support the information and asset data management activities for the asset data migration processes from "old" to "new" Asset Management System. Recommend approaches for data governance and maintenance to establish a long term approach for asset data quality Skills and Experience Required: Highly experienced in all aspects of asset management.

Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing and delivering the data requirements for Enterprise Asset Management System implementations. Strong background in understanding the touchpoints of operations and maintenance with an asset management system and the specific success factors for systems acceptance by an organisation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience working with a diverse stakeholder groups including senior level stakeholders, operations and technical teams, as well as customer facing and business operations teams. The candidate must state their agreement to have or obtain (at Department expense) a baseline security clearance. Location and Contract Term: Melbourne based role.

Approx start date of Mid December with contract till 30 June 2020. 2 x 6 month contract extensions pending budget and delegate approval. Security Requirements : Applicants must be Australian Citizens.
