ACFS Port Logistics is an Australia privately owned company that has established itself in all major seaboard ports of Australia. We now have a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our busy team. This position is based in West Melbourne, Victoria and you will be working in the transport team reporting to the National Compliance Manager.
The primary objective of the Compliance Officer is to be responsible for compliance to NHVR, WAHVA & HVNL Law , manage driver training and compliance and also manage the compliance reporting and administrative requirements for the Transport division in VIC. Supporting the Repairs & Maintenance team with data entry. Some of your position responsibilities will be to Ensuring compliance to National Heavy Vehicle Regulations (NHVR, and WAHVA), Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and heavy vehicle permits Maintain all required documentation, record auditing, record keeping and data entry as required to maintain and comply with NHVAS accreditation guidelines Monitoring and ensuring the correct operation and maintenance of all heavy vehicles/fleet Conduct transport inductions & ensuring driver competency Develop and implement a training program to ensure all employees remain compliant with company policies & procedures Provide management and supervisory support with recommended corrective actions to prevent incidents Co-Ordinating the internal and external audit process Identifying and communicating suggested improvement actions to management Ensure all staff on site follow and adhere to safe working practices Investigate Serious Safety incidents and implement improvement measures Complete Risk Assessments as required to ensure safe operations Compile WHS reporting and promote safety messages and communication Complete regular Safety Observations To be considered for this role you are required to have: Proven Experience in a similar role Knowledge & Experience within the Logistics/Transport Industry Experience with NHVR & WAHVA Compliance Experience with WHS Management systems and internal auditing Self-starter with excellent communication skills both written and oral Ability to think on feet and multi-task in high pressure environment Well organised with attention to detail Practical experience as a Truck Driver would be desirable, as well as knowledge of different types of prime movers and trailing equipment.
