Mental Health Lawyer
Do you have a background in court or tribunal advocacy? Do you have more than 2 years post admission experience? Are you interested in supporting the legal rights of people with mental illness? Queensland Advocacy Incorporated is looking for a full time mental health lawyer (75 hours per fortnight) for 12 months , dependent on funding. The lawyerâ€™s role will be primarily to provide representation before the Mental Health Review Tribunal in forensic matters and electroconvulsive therapy. The lawyer will also assist vulnerable clients between hearings and support the work of other QAI services, such as legal advice, representation and referral of guardianship and administration matters, restrictive practices and human rights.
