Each year there are approximately 19,500 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and 540 births. Additional services at Griffith Base Hospital include physiotherapy, dietetics, pharmacy, occupational therapy and Aboriginal health. There are also a range of diagnostic services including Pathology, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, General X-Ray and Mammography.

What you will be doing Provide safe compassionate person centred care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve safe quality care outcomes that meet the goals of the individual. The Transition to Practice Program is designed to support registered nurses new to the practice of either Emergency, Intensive Care or Perioperative Nursing.

The programs each extend over 12 months, and requirements includes: •Successful completion of the relevant modules within the Participants Workbook Attendance at scheduled Learning Days (including ALS1 competence) CAPE at 3months, 6 months & 12 months with NUM / CNE MLHD Certificate of Completion is received once requirements are successfully met. Selection Criteria Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), with demonstrated evidence to meet the NMBA's Registered Nurse standards for practice and meet the NMBA approved standards, codes, guidelines and frameworks commensurate with the position Demonstrate the ability to conduct assessments; develop a nursing care plan; provide safe, appropriate and responsive quality care and evaluate outcomes to inform nursing practice Demonstrate a real interest in Emergency/Intensive care/Operating Theatre Nursing and/or competence in caring for individuals and their family in the Emergency/Intensive care/Operating Theatre.
