About the role Under delegation of the Commissioner of Victims Rights you will assess and determine applications for victims support under the Victims Rights & Support Act, 2013 . Applications are decided in accordance with legislation, policies, procedures, administrative law principles and service standards. The role has a high level of discretion in making decisions.

As part of the role you will provide applicants with individualised written decisions setting out the reasons either for the amount of financial support awarded, or for the dismissal of the application. The written decisions are to be made in accordance with Administrative Law principles including sufficiency of reasons being given in written determinations and show an understanding of therapeutic jurisprudence. Essential Requirements Degree in Law or Psychology or Social Work.

About you In addition to the essential requirements you will have: • A high level of motivation and ability to work independently while making significant decisions • Experience balancing high volume and high turnover whilst ensuring high quality determinations • Highly developed problem solving skills and can adapt to challenging situations.
