86 - 90122.83 (full time equivalent) Hours Per Week : 16 Requisition ID : REQ136800 The Ambulatory Service at the Children's Hospital Westmead is after dynamic Registered Nurses with Paediatric experience to join their team. The successful RN will have the unique opportunity to work across two of the Ambulatory services; Turner ward and Hospital in the Home (HITH).
Turner Unit forms part of Ambulatory Services and is a unique combination of many specialities within the Medical Day Stay Unit. Together we provide specialist care to chronic and acutely unwell children 0-18 yrs. This includes haematology, immunology, metabolic, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, bone service and cardiology.
The Medical Day Stay Unit primarily treats children who require acute review and /or treatment, ongoing regular treatment, pre and post general anaesthetic or oral sedation for procedures. Hospital in The Home (HITH) aims to provide home based healthcare services that deliver equal or better outcomes for patients who would otherwise be admitted as inpatients. The successful RN will provide a standard of excellence according to the individual's level of experience and education for all patients and families by implementing and maintaining high quality nursing care within safe environment in the community.
The nurse is part of a multidisciplinary team which includes all disciplines. Professional development opportunities will include ward based packages such as intravenous cannulation, procedural inhaled nitrous oxide, Central venous access devices and phlebotomy. It is a 7 day roster including day shift and evening shifts.
Successful applicants will be required to attend home visits, a NSW drivers licence is a requirement for the role.
