About the role Following the rapid growth in demand in our field, we are now hiring an early career scientist or engineer to join our consultancy. Your work will contribute to industry leading research and development projects and consulting to major agricultural and industrial clients in Australia and overseas. Our projects cover a full spectrum of agri-environmental research areas, with an emphasis on livestock systems and greenhouse gas accounting, energy and water efficiency, soil and nutrient management and waste-water management.

You will have the opportunity to utilise fundamental science / engineering skills, combined with industry knowledge to deliver great outcomes at a high standard of excellence. Skills in livestock systems modelling, LCA or GHG accounting would be particularly beneficial. As would a personal background in farming/agriculture.

The role will include managing projects, working to quality, time and budget constraints and delivering research suitable for peer reviewed publication. The role reports to the principal scientist. The role will include on-the-job and formal training as required, and opportunities may exist to utilise the skills and research outcomes from your work to obtain higher education degrees or other qualifications.

About You You are a graduate or early career professional with a desire to make a difference in agriculture and the environment.

You pursue excellence in your work, have an eye for detail and a focus on client outcomes. You are a team player and can learn on-the-job by taking on new challenges. You are self-motivated and able to work on tasks to see them completed in a timely manner within time constraints.

You have highly developed written communication, numerical and technical skills developed in your career and preferably demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications. You have the ability to communicate and connect with farmers/clients. A background in agriculture is highly valued.

A degree or post-graduate degree in agricultural science, agricultural/environmental engineering, or associated disciplines is expected.
