Safety & Workcover Manager
The Just Group is an established, progressive and growing multinational organisation with seven iconic retail brands; currently with over 1000 stores across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. We take safety seriously and we have an opportunity for a technically strong and energetic operator to join our Support Office team as the Safety & Workcover Manager. Reporting to the Group General Manager - Retail Operations and working closely with the People & Culture team, you will provide leadership by improving safety processes and initiatives across our group and driving a focus in safety culture to enhance commercial outcomes.
Together with the Safety and Workcover Advisor you will be responsible for managing workers compensation for all injured team members with a focus on early intervention and return to work plans. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders you will be responsible for but not limited to: - Maintaining, operating and improving the safety management system and processes ensuring compliance with ANZ standards - Promoting safety best practice through influencing senior leaders and driving ownership - Delivering ongoing improvement initiatives by working with all areas of the business to complete risk assessments, incident investigations and reporting - Analysing and presenting metrics to senior managers together with related data to establish trends and emerging risks coupled with recommendations for resolution - Managing Workers Compensation / Injury Management Procedures, Forms and Tools in consultation with internal and external business stakeholders (Injury Management, Return to Work (RTW) Plans) - Driving the annual premium calculation ensuring best possible outcome for the business - Undertaking regular claims reviews with Insurers and presenting results to the business - Preparation of Board reports and other safety reports To be successful you will need to have: - A working knowledge of relevant Safety and Environmental legislation, Standards and Compliance as well as Australian Workers Compensation Legislation - Demonstrated experience defining, improving and implementing safety processes, systems and outcomes in an operational environment (preferably retail or hospitality) - Experience managing workers compensation / injury management across all Australian states and territories including premium management with insurers - Formal qualifications in WHS (Diploma level or higher) essential - Understanding the end to end management of all WorkCover claims including timely submissions of claims and payments of compensation Well-developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate and influence across all levels, including senior leaders is critical in this role.
