Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position (s) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Cardiology. Successful applicants will be able to provide diagnostic and interventional Electrophysiology procedures in cardiac catheter laboratories along with device implantation.
Currently Nepean Hospital has a limited electrophysiology service. Successful candidate will need to set up processes to ensure safe implementation of electrophysiology service to meet patient needs in the NBLHD. The position will be for an initial period of 3 years and may be extended subject to funding and clinical need.
Successful applicants may be offered a conjoint university appointment within the Faculty of Medicine at the relevant University attached to each facility. The level of academic appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and scholarship and will be held only during the tenure of the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment.
The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to the District for clinical matters (delete this paragraph if not applicable) The number of sessions will be: Two electro-physiology (diagnostic simple and complex ablation) sessions in Cath Lab, as well as device implantation (ICD, pacemakers) and 1-2 electrophysiology clinics . Successful candidate will need to participate in the general cardiology on call roster. Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
