The opportunity - Underground Geotechnical Engineer You will be joining a well-known mid-tier mining organisation that currently own and operate a world class base metal operation in Australia and internationally. This particular operation is known for it's geotechnical challenges that will allow for a rewarding opportunity in the geotechnical department which has open to the opportunity for an experienced Geotech Engineer to join the team on a 8/6 FIFO roster.
Joining the technical services team your duties will include but not be limited to: Inspect design and manage the underground workings for safe mining Review of consultant reports for mine design and mining methods Design and management of ground support and geotechnical monitoring programmes as required. Design optimisation of geotechnical database systems including mapping, core logging, quality control, stope design and reconciliation. Is this for you? To be successful in the role you must be able to demonstrate: A strong background in Geotechnical Engineering with a solid track record in U/G operations.
Strong analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement Knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations Demonstrated ability to use specialised Geotechnical hardware and software Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
