u&u Recruitment Partners are proud and excited to be partnering with a very successful, boutique consultancy business in Brisbane to secure a Water Resources Engineer to join their close-knit team. This is an amazing and unique opportunity for an experienced water professional to join this small dynamic team with a huge opportunity to progress, develop and grow with this employee-owned company. You will have access to management but work autonomously to provide accurate and innovative flood and water balance advice to loyal clients; mainly to the resources sector.

The role has opportunity to develop but the core duties will include: Preparation of accurate, concise and well-written technical reports which will represent this company in the market; Flood / hydraulic modelling using various software packages; Surface drainage design in non-urban environments (open drains, culverts, erosion protection, etc) including first principles hydrologic calculations; Civil design works such as dams, weirs, spillways, creek diversions, creek stabilisation works, drains, drain stabilisation works and culverts; Attending site visits / inspections across Qld and sometimes NSW; Interaction via telephone and in person with clients to maintain and nurture long lasting relationships; and Time management in order to deliver multiple projects at a time, accurately and within the clients' deadlines whilst complying with budgetary constraints. To be considered for this position you will need: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and / or Environmental Science (water specialisation preferred); Minimum five years' experience in a similar role preferably in a consulting environment; MS Excel for use in water resources calculations; Extremely strong written skills specifically technical report writing; AutoCAD and/or Mapinfo and / or QGIS; Familiarity with "Australian Rainfall and Runoff-A Guide to Flood Estimation 2016"; and Possess strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients.
