Senior Business Analyst



Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) West Melbourne – Close to Flagstaff Station Full time – Specific project role The Senior Business Analyst will be involved in the three phases of the software development lifecycle; design, build and test. They will work closely with other areas of the business and the software development team to ensure that functionality and value are delivered. In the design phase, the role will work with representatives from business to research, gather, formulate and document detailed requirements.

They will work with the software development team, architects and the business to define and detail a solution to answer those requirements. The build phase will require a guiding hand from the role whilst developers create the defined solution. It will require attention to detail, ensuring business requirements are fulfilled.

You will be team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment as part of a team on large, strategic projects in an Agile environment. You will work across all software applications maintained by the Information Management and Technology unit. This will include FastTrack, GRV's core racing application and other custom systems such as the data warehouse and the Case Management System.

The Senior Business Analyst will mentor and coach his colleagues, provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others to identify improvement opportunities. You will also be expected to stay current with customer needs and strategies. They will utilise formal and informal written communication methods to communicate updates and findings and facilitate project meetings and presentations to diverse audiences.

The Senior Business Analyst will perform, in certain instances, application testing across the area of functionality developed. This may involve the creation of test scripts, reporting of defects and enhancements, the tracking and management of their resolution, and the engagement with other GRV employees to test specific area of the application.
