Senior Technical Specialist

Your new role You will be responsible for the maintenance of IT facilities and associated IT infrastructure. This includes administration, software licensing, equipment auditing and facility service continuity.
You will ensure the smooth operation of the voice and data network in order to provide maximum security, performance and availability for the system users. You will: Provide technical support and advice to the Coordinator of Technical Services to design, maintain and support LAN, WAN, VoIP and Security infrastructure at all sites Provide high-level technical support for voice and data network systems Undertake daily maintenance, reporting and monitoring of IT infrastructure including LAN, WAN, SOE, server hardware and associated technologies Participate in the delivery of IT projects Create and maintain systems documentation, maintain hardware and software standards Develop and maintain understanding of ITIL governance within team What you'll need to succeed To be a successful applicant you will need: Demonstrated expertise with LAN and WAN technologies installation and troubleshooting, IP Routing and switching Substantial experience with VMware and associated technologies Expert knowledge of Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server, Active Directory, Exchange (O365) and Veeam Considerable knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure technologies - Azure or AWS Ability to provide high-level specialist advice regarding maintaining IT facilities and associated infrastructure Positive and collaborative attitude What you'll get in return A fantastic opportunity to work within a prestigious and forward thinking Government organisation.
