These roles will suit highly-skilled and self-driven (common law qualified) lawyers with top tier technical experience in: general banking / corporate finance; derivatives / OTC derivatives regulation; structured finance / leveraged finance; financial markets compliance implementation; funds and investment management; or project and infrastructure finance. Key requirements A right to work and reside in Australia Qualified to practice in Australia – unrestricted – and willingness to set up an Incorporated Legal Practice or engage on a contractual basis A minimum of four years' post-qualification experience at a top tier law firm in your area of expertise In-house legal experience at leading financial services institutions/corporates preferred (directly or as a secondee) Strong technical knowledge and experience in a common law jurisdiction highly regarded Self-starter with a commitment to building a career as a consultant and a drive to achieve at a high level whilst working as a consultant Adept at leading or working within complex multi-functional, multi-national project environments Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally Client service-focused, with exemplary client service ethic and commitment Strong commercial/business acumen Resilient, adaptable, autonomous and highly credible Advanced organisational skills and diplomacy More variety.

Client assignments can range from stepping into a team to support a project to taking on a senior legal role or within a BAU in-house capacity.

Working with both international and domestic financial institutions assignments are usually two to six months in duration and tend to require you work a minimum of four days per week. You may also have the opportunity to work within Allen & Overy on an ad-hoc basis, supporting teams when needed or joining them for fixed periods to work on a deal..
