The Academic portfolio sits alongside other divisions (Research, International, Strategy & Culture, Administration & Finance) within Chancellery, and is responsible for setting and overseeing strategy in relation to: The Melbourne student experience The University's commitment to student equity and diversity The quality of learning and teaching through educational innovation and standards The continuous development and improvement of the Melbourne Curriculum Melbourne's Digital Learning Strategy Academic performance, development, promotion, reward and recognition About the Roles Working within the Chancellery (Academic) team, the Project Officers contribute to the planning, management and delivery of major strategic projects. Chancellery (Academic) strategic programs in 2019/2020 include the Flexible Academic Programming (FlexAP) program, improving the teaching and learning of the University; and the Student Life program, including the undergraduate student life signature initiative implementation program. In this position you will be supporting the project management of one or more key projects, as part of a wider program team.
You will be providing project management support for all aspects of the relevant project(s), gaining expertise in the relevant areas, and developing all relevant project materials, as well as carrying out related project tasks and activities. You will ensure project deliverables are efficiently organised and aligned, managing project interdependencies and related enablers; prepare and maintain project schedules and associated milestone reports; assess project status and progress, ensure stages are documented correctly and that current issues, and risks and achievements are accurately reported to stakeholders and leadership; identify and analyse emerging risks and threats to project implementation and recommend mitigation, minimisation and/or elimination strategies and procedures. As Chancellery (Academic) operates across all layers of the organisation from Senior Executive to academic departments, and professional service areas.
