The APGI's mission is to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients, and to enable research worldwide in ongoing discovery and development through quality research and strategic collaborations. The Opportunity We are seeking to appoint a Project Support Officer to support a multi-centre, global research program investigating the clinical and genetic aspects of Pancreatic Cancer. The role would work within The Australian Pancreatic Cancer Genome Initiative (APGI) based at the Garvan Institute.
The Project Support Officer would support the Project Manager and assist with administrative and technical coordination of research activities within the APGI. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role is a one year fixed term, full time or part time, kept flexible on the number of days of work in a week based on availability of the incumbent and the organization with a high possibility to extend. The position is based at the Garvan Institute in Darlinghurst and works closely with collaborative centres of the APGI.
Key Responsibilities Coordination of APGI Administrative processes such as the Avner APGI BioResource Access system, including coordinating correspondence, paperwork compilation and invoice preparation; Management of the APGI network membership and associated executive meetings; Work closely with the Project Manager to consolidate biospecimen resources, including quality control, audits and storage management; Database maintenance and data entry of clinical data; Assistance with coordination of collaborative projects, and liaising closely with other related research projects within the APGI. The Project Support Officer will provide administrative (70%), basic technical (20%) and operational project coordination support (10%) to the APGI Project Manager (PM) and Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC). The distribution can flex based on the technical capabilities of the incumbent.
About You The successful candidate should possess the following: Minimum of 2 years of experience in and administrative or technical role within research, allied health or clinical disciplines; Well-developed administrative skills, with database experience; Good communication and team-building skills; High level of attention to detail and ability to work with initiative; Previous experience within clinical or research teams in an administrative or technical role will be highly desirable The....
