Senior Community Engagement Officer
Support the leadership team to deliver highly complex outcomes, projects & work programs that have strategic, political & operational significance. As the Senior Community & Mainstream Engagement Officer, you would support the leadership team to deliver highly complex outcomes, projects and work programs that have strategic, political and operational significance to the Agency. Support to implement operational strategies aimed at achieving the mission.
Your responsibilities would include: Assist in driving the implementation and operationalisation of a state engagement strategy aligned with the broader Engagement Strategy in conjunction with Branch and Divisional strategies and business plans. Promote, implement and monitor community and mainstream engagement activities. Provide critical analysis & feedback to measure the effectiveness of activities & strategies including offering guidance for proactive local tailored engagement where it may be required.
Provide considered advice and support to the Assistant Director of WA Community and Mainstream Engagement. Represent the agency at external forums & events, provide information & guidance to people with disability, participants and the wider community. Deliver clear, concise and effective messaging to people with disability, their families and carers as well as other community & mainstream stakeholders.
Represent the agency in discussions with key external stakeholders, presenting clear and consistent messages. Provide input and feedback into the production of content for collateral and messaging. Consulting, sharing information and encouraging diverse views to work collaboratively towards mutually beneficial outcomes to deliver on the objectives of the Branch and the wider Agency.
Team leading and mentoring staff. Working collaboratively with a team to effectively deliver required outcomes. This role may include intrastate and interstate travel, including to remote Indigenous communities.
Your required Talents: Experience in community engagement and presentation/facilitation skills, particularly in remote community engagement. Positive contemporary attitudes to people with disability. Understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals.
Experience with supporting people with a disability to maximise participation in community. Competency, or ability to develop competency, in consistently applying assessment tools to identify support needs. Strong and adaptable communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders. Able to engage in negotiation if dealing with external providers. Ability to work within and across teams and adapt quickly to a changing environment.
Ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy. Ability to provide a mentor role within the team. This opportunity can be based in either....
