Volunteer Farm Work
We operate a farm in northern NSW, consisting of 35 Arabian horses running over 600 acres. We are currently looking for a volunteer to help with the construct of horse fences on the property. See photo of fence attached.
It will involved digging holes with the assistance of an orgar/tractor; boring holes with a drill and laying steel rails into position. There will be some lifting involved. You will need to show initiative and be able to learn on the job.
The ability to speak English and communicate effectively is desired. We can provide you with food, unlimited WFI, accommodation [your own private room in my home] and you will be treated like one of the family. Breakfast is bacon, eggs and coffee/tea.
Fruit, snacks and tea/coffee is available during the day, while dinner consists of meat & veggies/salad plus sweets. If you are an experienced horse rider, you can go riding with me most days in your spare time. I have lots of horses available for our adventures on miles and miles of tracks.
We are blessed with many species of Australian wildlife experience such as goannas, echidnas, kookaburras, kangaroos, koalas There will be time to chill and watch the beautiful sunsets or gaze at the milky way at night. Copeton Dam is just 10km up the road and is a popular spot to fish. Inverell is also just 10km up the road, and offers Thia, Indian and Chinese dinning opportunities.
We typically eat out about once per month. Inverell is known as the Saphire City. It has a cinema, ten-pin bowling alley and a pistol range.
We are happy to pick you up from the Inverell Airport of bus station [links with NSW train system]. Please note, for the "right" person, this maybe a paid position following an initial "trial". This will need to be negotiated.
Please don't apply if you do not have a good work ethic. If you like cities and lots of people, then this is not for you. If you love nature and quiet then you are in the right place.
