Director (Clinical Training)
An opportunity has become available for a Director (Clinical Training) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 9000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region. About the role Working in collaboration with the Manager of Medical Workforce and Education, this role is responsible for professional oversight of the Medical Education Unit. This includes providing the professional lead in the training and performance of junior medical officers and promoting best practice in medical education within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS).
A key responsibility of this role is to integrate the medical education program at GCHHS with major organisational priorities. Requirements for the role It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B. MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties. While not mandatory, fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (or evidence of candidature) would be highly desirable. While not mandatory, post-graduate adult education-related qualifications and experience of adult learning principles would be well regarded.
Salary information Permanent full time Estimated total remuneration up to $420,732 p.a., comprising: Senior Staff Specialist - Base salary from - $220,269 - $233,538 p.
a Staff Specialist - Base salary from - $179,703 - $208,735 p.a Senior General Practitioner - Base salary - $179,703 p.a General Practitioner - Base salary from - $155,589 - $175,067 p.
