Track Renewals Manager - Rail
A Renewals Manager of Rail is required to work for a global leader that is at the forefront of maintaining and renewing our train network. About your unique new role: You will lead a team to ensure that the scope and direction of each project(s) is on schedule and within budget. Your team will lead a large rail maintenance business in an operating rail environment that focuses on renewal work and maintenance of rail infrastructure.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide business management for the renewals works and renewals programs. Further to this you will drive business improvement and lead a team to transform the Infrastructure renewals delivery function to become fit for the future. Your responsibilities include: Manage the business to deliver renewals for the Annual Works Plan that meets that required standard within the available budget Drive business renewals improvement to modernise the business for the future, through improved work practices, staffing and technology Ensure correct tools and equipment are appropriately audited, certified, maintained and utilised for work and all equipment, materials and emergency items are assembled and accessible on the job Manage additional contract resources in order to deliver works including requisition, procurement, cost analysis in line with budget, performance, safety and quality Lead and drive performance and accountability through daily visualisation meetings Manage depots (or part thereof) including compliance, safety and 5S processes Prepare the annual budget Assist in the preparation of the detailed works planning Monitor and control delivery to the approved budget and plan Manage procurement in accordance with budget Mandatory experience includes; Extensive experience leading a large rail maintenance business in an operating rail environment Experience leading large teams that self-perform rail maintenance work Proven experience of managing $50m budgets, including direct commercial, budget and planning accountability Experience delivering large business turn-around changes Tertiary qualification in an Infrastructure related discipline Post-graduate qualifications in management or asset management - desirable There are great benefit schemes and the opportunity to be recognised for your efforts For a strictly confidential discussion, please contact Tina Smith (03) 9203 4929.
