Project Manager - Capital Works
Project Manager managing planning, design and delivery for construction projects Your new department Hays Property and Facilities Management is working with an ACT Government Directorate undertaking a program of major capital works across their asset portfolio. The Directorate has an opportunity for a client-side project manager for an initial 6 months with the possibility of extension. Your new role Under broad direction, you will pro-actively manage the project planning, site investigation, development of master plans, concept plans and coordinate all actions on behalf of the Directorate to ensure the timely procurement of consultant and construction services for major projects This role will entail you to monitor progress, manage risks, check quality and manage the budget on major projects to ensure they are delivered within budget, on time and are fully compliant with all statutory, government and end user requirements.
You will need to prepare regular briefings and reports on the progress of infrastructure projects and will be required to draft all project related correspondence, prepare responses to ministerial requests, ministerial briefs, fact sheets and other correspondence as required. What you'll need to succeed You will need demonstrable experience and success in developing and managing a project program and risk management processes of a major infrastructure project. An ability to balance priorities, meet deadlines and to achieve positive results in a challenging environment is essential to the role.
You will have a good understanding of and experience in the various delivery methodologies and government procurement processes for large infrastructure projects. You will need to pass a police background check prior to commencing in the role. What you'll get in return You will get an initial 6 month contract within a large Government Department with a very attractive hourly rate.
