The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity within our National Self Insurance division for an experienced, driven and motivated leader looking to take the next step in their career. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading Team Leaders, Technical and support staff, and a group of claims staff. This is the perfect opportunity to broaden your leadership experience and gain exposure and involvement in key decision making and being accountable for driving strategic focus areas.
Responsibilities Coach, guide and manage the group autonomously to achieve continuous improvement and desired outcomes for all stakeholders. Develop strategic initiatives and lead your group to ensure they achieve service, performance and compliance measures in relation to key performance indicators. Facilitate and manage key stakeholder relationships, while working with the team to achieve their strategic objectives.
Provide advice and guidance on people management practices and operational requirements to managers in your reporting line. Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers and large corporate clients. Attending networking events, industry conferences and building external relationships.
Skills and Experience A similar Manager role, working within a fast-paced business environment with sound decision making skills and the ability to think outside the square. Current experience managing an operational claims team and/or similar relevant work experience. Experience in leading a team, coaching and developing others and a successful track record of driving performance.
Excellent understanding of Workplace Injury Management & Workers Compensation legislations â€“ specifically QLD legislation would be beneficial. Ability to deal with conflicting demands ensuring key priorities and deadlines are met.
