Our purpose is “embracing discovery and learning, building partnerships and engaging our community to deliver excellent health and wellbeing.” What you'll be doing The purpose of the CNS 2 position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within across the Macquarie Hospital site.

The CNS 2 employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with the After Hours Nurse Managers and In Charge of shifts. The purpose of the role is to work in association with the After Hours Nurse Manager (AHNM) to provide clinical leadership, education and advanced clinical skills to nurses and consumers within Macquarie Hospital and ensuring a comprehensive quality nursing service. The position liaises closely with AHNMs to facilitate effective and efficient provision of service delivery after hours across the whole campus by: Actively contributing to the development of clinical practice in Macquarie Hospital Exercising extended autonomy of decision making Exercising professional knowledge and judgment in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills Leadership in the development of nursing specialty clinical practice and service delivery across Macquarie Hospital Nursing Services This position also works under the direction of the AHNM and reports to the Deputy Director of Nursing, and works autonomously to help support all nursing staff through constant communication to ensure the most appropriate response to situations involving both staff and consumers.

All nurses must comply and act in accordance with recognised professional and organisational standards established by NSW Health, The Nursing and Midwifery Board Of Australia, and NSLHD. The Australian College of Mental Health Nurses Inc.
