We now have an opportunity available for an experienced Cook to oversee the operations of the kitchen at our Juniper Bethshan aged care home, located in the Great Southern town of Katanning WA. The purpose of this role is to prepare high quality, nutritious meals to meet our residentsâ€™ special dietary requirements.
You will be responsible for supervising a small team of catering staff and ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to. You will also make sure that the quality of meals is maintained at a high standard and that a safe food service is provided. This is a fixed term position of 30 hours per week commencing 25th November until 2nd June 2020. The successful applicant must be available to work a variety of days and shifts. Accommodation and onsite meals will be offered to the successful applicant if not a local resident.
Key Responsibilities of this role: Preparing and cooking high quality, nourishing meals for our residents Monitoring all practices within the catering centre to ensure safe food handling and infection control procedures are being adhered to Ensure all areas of the kitchen are cleaned to the highest standards Stock control management, replenishing and ordering stock as required Compliancy with Juniperâ€™s Occupational, Safety and Health requirements The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required: Trade certification or experience in a commercial cooking environment and/or aged care catering is required Basic knowledge of dietary nutrition for the aged is preferred Ability to manage bulk ordering, purchasing, and stock control of food Competent in using Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and interpersonal skills Empathy for elderly residents Juniper is a leading provider of care, accommodation and support services for older Western Australians.
