The role: We are seeking committed and reliable Disability Support Workers with High Manual Handling skills , for ongoing shifts in Abbotsford and Thornbury, Victoria.
The primary duties of the role include: Supporting NDIS participants to reach their set goals in life Taking the participant out into the community Taking the participant to their doctorâ€™s appointment Building a good relationship rapport with the participant Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, domestic tasks and transportation Providing one on one support to the NDIS participants within their homes Helping the participant with other living aspects, as specified by their NDIS plan. If you are a person with a kind, patient and empathetic nature, and willing to provide with your upmost care, carrying a positive can-do attitude; then this role could be a match for you. Eligibility Criteria: â€¢ Minimum of 3 months paid experience in supporting people with disabilities.
â€¢ Two relevant, professional and industry related reference checks. â€¢ Working with Childrenâ€™s Check , or willing to obtain one â€¢ Have a current, or willing be to obtain a First Aid (HLTAID003) and CPR (HLTAID001) certificate. â€¢ Willing to undergo a police check Essential criteria: â€¢ Experience in High Manual Handling â€¢ Experience in PEG Feeding â€¢ Experience working with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy is advantageous â€¢ Car, Drivers Licence and Comprehensive Insurance Benefits of working for HCA: â€¢ Above award wages â€¢ Supportive team â€¢ Ongoing shifts â€¢ Free Manual Handling training on offer â€¢ Free National Police Check â€“ we run one ourselves â€¢ eHCA mobile phone app â€“ for ease of updating your availability, submitting time sheets and viewing your booked shifts If you would like to apply, please email to: irina.
