5 years’ experience as a firmware engineer with microcontroller coding experience in both Assembly and C. Our products are complex multi-disciplinary systems so you will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with passionate, world-class teams from across the organisation. You will be solving challenging problems to deliver great products to our customers so a commitment to lifelong learning and development is essential.

Responsibilities : Firmware Product Development Maintain an understanding of the firmware deliverables for each project. Implementation of firmware deliverables on Cochlear’s product platforms in C or Assembly. Implementation of unit and system tests and frameworks using python, assembler, and/or C, for the purpose of verification of firmware against requirements.

Assist with product validation (with CI recipients) of firmware designs and algorithms. Follow all applicable development processes and methodologies. These processes may be part of DCP, PIP, applicable international standards and/or specific team processes.

Documentation and maintenance of firmware specifications and requirements. Essentials: 1.5 years experience as a Firmware Engineer.

Experience in firmware design and implementation. Experience coding microcontrollers in Assembly and C. Excellent communication skills.

University degree in electronics or computer engineering or similar. Ideally: Skills in firmware architecture design. Skills in cross-functional thinking and problem solving.

Familiarity with programming in the python programming language. Why Cochlear?
