HR Manager - Legal
Seeking a looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a highly dynamic Learning & Development team based in Melbourne's CBD This rare senior opportunity is responsible for the provision of high quality People and Development services to the legal professionals. It will require the successful candidate to develop a trusted advisor relationship for the Melbourne office and will act as the primary contact for all people processes, projects and support for the office. To be successful in this role you will: Coach Partners around people issues and provide advice and guidance that is both technically correct and commercially relevant Manage relevant employee issues in line with legal obligations, policies and processes including performance, bullying or harassment.
Oversee the annual performance appraisal process for Melbourne legal staff, including presentations to staff and partners as required, coaching partners on how to deal with performance issues and assisting them to hold effective discussions. Involvement in the promotions process for the Melbourne office, including Partner, Special Counsel and Senior Associate. Provide advice to partners and staff on firm policies and programs Manage the annual remuneration review process for Melbourne legal staff to ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
Support partners to deliver and communicate remuneration outcomes effectively Work closely with the national P&D team to produce national standard documentation for Melbourne professional staff including new contracts, variations of employment Required experience: A minimum of five years experience within a legal environment Experience working in a fast-paced HR function A respectful and highly inclusive approach Excellent people skills and high attention to detail Advanced organisational skills Experience working with Managing Partners and Legal Professionals of varying experience For a confidential discussion, please contact Charlotte Warke on 0411 354 866 or apply directly.
