Payroll Officer

Following on from some recent expansion, SACARE are currently seeking a suitably experienced Payroll Officer for a Full-time, 6-month fixed-term placement to support the current payroll and broader finance functions. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer as part of a two-person payroll team, you will be responsible for processing end-to-end payroll and associated functions for our business. What you'll be responsible for: Processing fortnightly payroll for up to 500 employees per pay cycle.

Act as the key point of contact for internal and external clients relating to payroll and associated functions, across a multi-site business. Facilitation of ad-hoc and manual payroll transactions as requested. Maintenance of accurate and timely payroll and employee records in-line with guiding principles.

Ensure compliance and correct interpretation of relevant industrial instruments including modern awards and legislation. Autonomous identification of issues and working collaboratively to effectively problem solve and deliver resolutions. Continuous improvement of processes and participation in procedural implementations, updates and internal training.

What you’ll need to be considered for the role: Demonstrated experience in a comparable environment, specifically with extensive experience in end-to-end payroll functions. Experience in and understanding of, SAGE (Payroll/Accounting system) Working knowledge of modern awards and relevant legislation Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge Ability to work collaboratively and effectively influence and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with individuals from all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Ability to operate accurately and efficiently with figures and to prioritise workload and apply a high attention to detail under rigid deadlines. Evidenced ability to remain adaptable and to consistently deliver a high quality of work in a changing landscape. Willingness to work after-hours/overtime when required to meet payroll deadlines.

DHS Disability Services and Child Related Employment Screening (or ability to obtain) Whilst not an essential requirement, it would be highly advantageous if applicants could demonstrate prior experience in a comparable Disability environment or possess knowledge of operating.
