Bethanie Gwelup requires a qualified Chef to manage the kitchen efficiently.
Prepare and cook food that is nutritious, well presented and within budget constraints and operate the kitchen within our food safety guidelines. This is a full-time permanent position offering 38 hours per week. This role is required to cover shifts from 9.
30 am to 5.30 pm, rostered days will include Monday to Sundays. Additional hours will be required from time to time for annual leave or sick leave coverage.
The current role work days are Thursday through to Monday inclusive. Reporting to the Hospitality Manager the Key Responsibilities are: Manage preparation and cooking of nutritious meals on-site Utilise your understanding of IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standards Initiative) to provide modified diets Effective ordering in line with the 4 week menu cycle & budget constraints Manage and develop a small team Direct and train staff on appropriate food presentation and preparation techniques Small function catering and theme days Take full responsibility of the kitchen and current Food Safe practices Be responsible for the daily food safety documentation and ensure compliance Comply with our Food safety programme, Food Act, & Food Standards Code Requirements: Previous experience as a Chef catering for up to 112 people Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery Ability to supervise other members of staff when required Experience in ordering food stuffs, and awareness of waste management Excellent time management skills Empathy towards the elderly Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and Food Standards code Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Inc.
