We are seeking an enthusiastic a Project Manager; this is a full time contract role, which will initially go for 12 months, but it has the option to extend. This role is within the rail industry and is based in Melbourne's CBD: The successful candidate will be working within a team environment. To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria below; Effectively manage projects in accordance with the requirements of the project governance and management procedures Projects may include objectives for creation, renewal and/or improvement of infrastructure, plant, equipment, information technology, and business processes/systems in addition to supporting the delivery of major maintenance packages of work Establish work packages and assign/delegate to a work package leader Ensure project plans are achieved within given timeframes and on budget Identify and document operational risks and requirements affecting project undertakings or impacted by the project Facilitate and ensure the creation and maintenance of a work program which shall include (where applicable): project development works, project Initiation, design, tender process, construction (or creation / execution / implementation), delivery into service (testing and commissioning) Develop all required project plans, including (where applicable): operational, quality, project management, cost control, OH&S, environmental management, resource, commissioning, handover, change management and accreditation plans Ensure that all required internal and external approvals and consultations are achieved in respect of managed projects (inclusive of all statutory permits and approvals) Formal qualifications in project management at a vocational or tertiary education level are desirable Proven experience in the delivery of projects is required.
Demonstrated experience and skills in in the rail environment advantageous Experience in Rail, Track, Civil or Structures advantageous but not essential Good communication skills with the ability to tailor your technical messages according to your audience.
