Part-time Various weekday and weekend shifts available; particularly early morning and evening shifts Weekend & evening penalties apply Paid kilometres St Laurence is a large, not-for-profit, non-government community service organisation providing high quality, consumer focused services within the areas of Aged and Disability in Home and Community Support, Disability Services and Employment Services throughout the Barwon and Western Regions of Victoria. St Laurence is seeking person centred, flexible, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join our rapidly expanding Support and Care team supporting older people and people with a disability in Geelong and surrounding areas.
Our Support Workers are responsible for providing support services to people in their own homes and communities. The role of a Support Worker is to support people achieve their goals and aspirations enabling them to reach and maintain their maximum independence. Duties include home care, personal support, community access and respite services.
The successful candidates must have: A relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Certificate IV in Disability or other relevant qualification Availability to work varied hours, including mornings, nights and at least two weekend days per fortnight A willingness to assist our consumers with their self-care routines Level 2 First aid certificate with up to date CPR (with six-months currency) Agree to undertake an annual Police check Current Working with Childrenâ€™s Check (Employee) A current driver's license and use of a reliable registered and insured motor vehicle Agree to a Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme (DWES) check. Basic computer skills (or willing to learn) Successful applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment police, medical and DWES checks.
