au/ Position Summary The Senior Dental Assistant (Infection Control Portfolio Holder) is a key member of the wider multi-disciplinary dental team. This role not only provides efficient and effective support for clinicians and less experienced dental assistants, but also contributes to the smooth running of the dental operation and the delivery of quality customer service to our clients and their families. The Senior DA IFC liaison officer is responsible for the implementation of relevant policies, procedures and standards and ensuring all relevant clinical staff are aware of and comply with the processes involved.

Key Responsibilities • Provide leadership, direction and support in Infection Control to the dental team. • Facilitate implementation of relevant policies, procedures and standards • Demonstrate an understanding of the accreditation process and seek to continually improve standards within the Dental Service • Undertake staff competency assessments and performance reviews • Ensure positive workplace behaviours and relationships are maintained. • Ensure a high level of customer service is delivered at all times.

• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment with emphasis on maintaining National Health Standards and Dental Health Service Victoria (DHSV) standards Essential Criteria •Certificate III / IV in Dental Assisting •Working With Children and Police Checks •Ability to draft simple policies using research skills •Ability to align team with the organisation values and goals through effective people management and modelling •Understands the purpose of and is able to use, common software applications for word processing and email •Accepts responsibility for own actions •Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in all aspects of the role. •Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills •Demonstrated ability to positively influence change in a team environment. •Working knowledge of applicable Infection Control Standards and their application within the dental environment.
