Construction Surveillance Engineering Technician
Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies. The Construction Surveillance Engineering Technician will be responsible in preparing and monitoring the progress of construction works to support the work conducted by the Officer in Charge of Construction (OICC) Marine Corps Marianas (MCM).
Work will be performed in Darwin, Northern Territory of Australia. This position is contingent to the award of the contract. Key responsibilities: Coordinate requests from construction contractor and track status of various requests within five days.
Investigate delayed requests and submit a report of the FEAD/ROICC detailing the cause for delays in issuance Work with prime contractor, Navy client customers, activity managers, maintenance and utility servers, Federal Fire departments, and Security Police so there is a seamless coordination of construction activities Attend other conferences called by the Government with construction contractor to discuss partnering, scheduling, potential claims, Red Zone, specific areas of work and other problems during the progress of the construction contract Draft project specific Quality Assurance plans as applicable to contract documents for each project assigned based on the current value threshold Prepare Construction Representativeâ€™s Report for each construction site visited daily Monitor construction work (including MEC prosecution) for project CQC compliance with contract documents Prepare appropriate documentation including photographs and immediately report the non-compliance to the appropriate Government representative and the construction Contractor Monitor Construction Contractorâ€™s compliance with safety and environmental requirements, testing and report instances of non-compliance to the requirements Perform spot checks for completeness and accuracy of the construction plans and specifications and to determine the constructability of the facility Develop its own checklist to use for checking construction plans and specifications, and add any procedures thought beneficial Witness testing of waste, gas, water, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection, elevator, boiler and energy monitoring control systems and note results and provide recommendations to accept or reject such systems on the CRR Assist with cost estimates, change orders, scheduling issues, as-builts, contract files, inspections including punch list inspections, operation manuals, and possible maintena....
