Australia Tax - Vice President
Company in the financial sector. Australia tax coverage of Morgan Stanley group. Advise various business units on tax implications of Australia related activities, assist in structuring of transactions and businesses.
Assist firm management in execution of key strategic transactions in Australia. Design, development and implementation of tax and capital planning in Australia in coordination with the US, Asia Pacific, and other regions. Actively identify and manage tax risks for the firm .
Oversee local tax compliance of multiple group companies in Australia and coordination with external auditors with respect to tax provision analysis and disclosures. Manage tax audits/queries and relationship with Australia Tax Office. Partner with senior management, business unit and infrastructure heads to design and implement tax governance and tax risk management procedures.
Work closely with infrastructure groups to fulfill external & internal reporting requirements. Management of external advisors. Representation of the firm in industry groups and before governmental bodies.
Thorough knowledge of Australian tax rules, research skills, and planning for a multinational firm. Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, including the ability to simplify and communicate complex business information. Strong teamwork and ability to partner and collaborate with colleagues across jurisdictions.
Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership/responsibility and ability to manage projects through completion. Bachelors or Masters degree in tax, accounting, or law. Knowledge of securities and investment banking industry and financial products.
Resilience, multi-tasking capability and ability to work under stressful situation. Open minded, receptive to new ideas, and not afraid of challenging status quo. 8 â€“ 12 years of Australia tax experience in a public accounting firm, law firm or corporate environment.
