We at Sabcha Pty Ltd are seeking a full-time Chef to work in our location in Brisbane. The position involves: Prepare meals to order for customers, with the assistance of the Cook (where necessary and especially for large orders/parties). Maintain food quality and presentation under pressure including cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen.
Plating of food must be in accordance with the requisite portion size, visual appeal and cleanliness. The Chef must provide final approval of all dishes that are served, so as to maintain the above consistency. Supervise a team of 2 â€“ 5 kitchen staff in preparing mise en place to specification to support a quality and timely prepared product offering.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and occupational health and safety regulations. Maintaining excellent grooming and hygiene ensuring all grooming standards are met in relation to personal grooming and uniform presentation. Completes all product orders and stock control via par stock - accepts and checks all deliveries including weighing.
Inspects equipment and storage facilities throughout a shift to ensure that equipment is in proper working order. Report promptly maintenance and safety issues and ensure they are corrected. Check and achieve Labour and food costs to budgets set by owners.
Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste. Assists in catering and function orders - both off-site and on-site including set-up, menuâ€™s and customer satisfaction. Monitoring perishable stock to minimise wastage and prevent contamination.
Ideally, you will hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and have three years of work experience in a premium dining restaurant specialising in Asian cuisines. At Pâ€™Nut Street Noodles, we will also consider applicants with a minimum three yearsâ€™ experience in a similar role, if no formal certification is attained.Certification is preferred but not compulsory as on the job relevant experience is more valuable.
At P`Nut Street Noodles, it is important that Chefs have a vast array of experience and are willing to learn different culinary techniques required on a Wok and for Asian style cooking. We also get all Chef`s to undergo recipe tests so there is consistency in cooking & it enhances their learning. Salary is $55,000 to $65,000 per year plus superannuation.
