Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation. An exciting opportunity currently exists for enthusiastic and highly experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists to join our Crisis Assessment and Treatment Service on a permanent fulltime basis.
We are an integrated component of Austin Health's Mental Health Division and pride ourselves on being consumer recovery focused. The NECAT service and its subprograms provide highly skilled clinical assessment and treatment options and work closely with local service providers and other specialist mental health services. This is an interesting and varied position offering a unique opportunity to utilise your specialist assessment and brief crisis intervention skills, provide specialist secondary consultations, clinical leadership, support and oversight of delegated duties to members of the team, network with stakeholders and carers and participate in quality improvement activities.
Required skill set and qualifications include current registration with AHPRA or relevant governing body with extensive experience in mental health, engaging in enhanced mental health/risk assessment and management, well developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
