2020 Psychiatry Registrars â€“ Continuing, transferring and Unaccredited trainees - RANZCP training positions (20.5)
About the Mental Health Department Barwon Health, based in Geelong and one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia, is seeking exceptional medical practitioners to join us as Psychiatry Trainees from February 2019. We welcome applications from doctors wishing to commence psychiatry training and current trainees transferring from other areas. Successful applicants will join a cohort of 26 psychiatry registrars at Barwon Health undertaking rotations within Barwon Health, Private Hospitals and Mercy Health in Werribee who are currently completing accredited psychiatry training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).

au/psychiatry-training 1st Year Trainees We are seeking four first year trainees to join us in 2019. Successful trainees will be immersed in a positive, engaged culture where Registrars are challenged and supported to become exceptional Psychiatrists. We have very high exam success rates, and expect to guide you to completion of RANZCP training in the minimum five years.
We provide an extensive variety of core and non-core RANZCP training rotations, all of which are supervised by accredited RANZCP Consultant Psychiatrist Supervisors. We are also passionate about education and research, with a strong connection with Deakin University School of Medicine and the Deakin University Psychiatric Research Unit (IMPACT Strategic Research Centre: https://goo.gl/j9i8Oq ) Transferring Trainees We also accept a limited number of Trainees each year wishing to transfer their RANZCP training.
Trainees wishing to transfer into our program must submit their RANZCP college training transcript with their application. Applicants who have been accepted for training by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or who are current Trainees will be given preference. We will consider applications from candidates overseas seeking specified Specialist Training (see http://www.ranzcp.
org/Pre-Fellowship/Overseas-specialists/Specified-Training.aspx ). We are not currently accepting exemption candidates unless you are transferring from an existing placement.
